Civil Society Organizations and the Private Sector have been involved since the early preparatory stage of the Conference.

Five regional workshops have been scheduled, with the purpose of creating formidable fora for discussion and exchange of experiences and views among the representatives of the Civil Society and members of the governments of various African States.

A great number of NGOs will be involved in the national and regional dialogue processes and several private companies, operating in the agriculture or energy sectors, have been contacted and constantly consulted.

The findings of each of the national and regional dialogues that will be implemented will be summarized in a brief document which will be presented at the High-Level Conference directly by a representative of the participants to the workshop.

The representatives of the Civil Society will participate in the round tables and parallel events of the Conference and they will also sit as observers during the Drafting Committee’s negotiations on the Final Declaration.
