The Conference Executive Secretariat, Steering Committee and Technical Committee have been established. The Executive Secretariat is composed of a core team responsible for the overall coordination of the preparatory work. The Steering Committee has the overall responsibility for directing the substantive and technical content and structure of the conference, including guidance, support, review, and clearance. The Steering Committee will also be responsible for the follow-up activities emerging from the Conference. The Technical Committee has the task to ensure the necessary supervision of the Conference documents and presentations to be prepared, as well as support the supervision of national processes, providing orientation to the Executive Secretariat in the dialogue with different stakeholders and the preparation and final editing of the documents of the Conference.

In both committees, representatives of the Government of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and the African Union will be actively involved and represented. Furthermore, the African Union will designate an officer who will work closely with FAO team as well as other partners involved in the project on the overall coordination and the smooth implementation of the planned activities.
